The real problem for me is being satisfied with the amount of food permitted on any diet. It just does not satisfy.

Rigorous Honesty, in the search of recovery from gross obesity. Mainly opinion, not advice. Some speculation, some errors, some fiction. Sugar, grain and processed products are not food. Omega 6 oil and dairy should be mainly avoided.
I thought you had found that a low-carb diet solved the hunger issue for you. Did something change? Are you not satisfied anymore with your "allowed" amount of low-carb food? Or was it always an issue?
ReplyDeleteDiet /Lifestyle ....... do you need to re-examine your ratio of carbs - fats - protein ?

The issue is cravings, not hunger.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if this may help ?

I've tried it all and I believe I had found suppression of BED in my case. Low Dose Naltrextone. Recommended by Dr Bernstein for cravings/overeating. At low dose it also stimulates the immune system so not a nasty drug that I can see. Stops my obsession with food, craving and I am satisfied with my meal - not that gnawing anxious hunger afterwards. Worth a try if you haven't already.
ReplyDeleteThis is Canada, Naltrextone is not available as Naltrextone, so I talked to old Dr. Tim a few years ago. So he looks it up, and finds an alternative name, and there is an off brand use warning, something about liver issues, if memory serves. That chemical ought to be banned for any use. No thanks. I will die of obesity first.
ReplyDeleteSome days I still am visited by the munchies - try my best to substitute better choices, but yeah, sometimes I just have to white-knuckle it...
